About Oopsie-Doodle
A webcomic with a ridiculous premise and a ridiculously proportioned heroine
Development
Oopsie-Doodle (Oopsie-Doodle) was originally meant to be a sort of homage to old Betty Boop cartoons. A busty girl cartoon character would inherit the family farm and spend all of her time consorting with funny animals. Somewhere, music would be playing, and all the characters would be bouncing in unison, no matter what else was going on. If you've seen those old cartoons, you'll know what I'm talking about.
However, reader feedback prompted me to alter that concept. The farm and talking critters remain, but nobody liked the little busty cartoon character "Rally", who was a sort of Dolly Parton-wannabe. Rally was a flat, one-dimensional character, and there was nothing interesting about her. Readers also made it clear that they like my art better when it verged more on realism.
So Rally turned into Beryl, based on a real girl I knew in high school, a girl who had unusually large breasts and coped with them as best she could. She wasn't quite as big as Beryl, but she leaned in that direction.
What's going on?
The original ridiculous premise remains. Beryl inherits the family farm, which just happens to be populated by talking animals.
As we go along, we'll find out more about Beryl and her life.
